The Bigger Picture

Getting Inspired to Dream Again

Speak Life

We’ve all been discouraged. We’ve all had days that we were just at our lowest. In that moment we either chose to embrace that or change our thoughts to something positive. We have a choice every day: to speak life (speak positive things into existence) or to speak negativity into your life. Words matter and whether we know it or not, we have the ability to change our world with speaking LIFE into ourselves and situations as well as into others.

I remember the saying ” sticks and stones…” , and well, you know the rest. That quote as I have learned is the exact opposite. Words can hurt or it can heal. Words have an impact and can affect your future. What you speak today could be a outlet to what happens later in life. So as we journey through the “Bigger Picture”, we should be careful to choose our words wisely. What are you saying that will benefit you or others? What can you do better to improve the words you speak ? How can you better control negative words that try to creep in? Let’s remember to speak love and life as we continue to pursue our dreams of impact. That means no gossip , no negative words about ourselves or others, and more LOVELY , LIFE giving words!

Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.  Ephesians 4:29

Foundation of Life

We all have that one thing that we go to that makes us happy when things get bad. We all have that one person we like to call, or maybe an uplifting song we like to listen to, to help us into a better mood. Whatever your “one thing” may be, I have an idea of a way that you can never go wrong… let God our Father be that “one thing” that keeps you grounded. Let Him be your Foundation of Life!

It is so easy, especially today to get your fulfillment from accomplishments and happiness from circumstances. The thing that I’ve learned and still continue to learn is that God will ALWAYS be there, and through Him is where we get our fulfillmnet and our sense of purpose. So, I don’t know what else could compare to always having someone who is always there when all else fails. I used to place my hope and fulfillment in accomplishments. There is absolutely nothing wrong with accomplishing great things, but we should always walk in humility and always strive to lift up the name of Jesus (Our foundation of life). Today and everyday after let’s lift up our dreams to our firm Foundation as we journey towards His “Bigger Picture”. He supports us and He loves us , He has a plan for our lives . Let’s let Him lead the way!

“The Rock! His work is perfect, For all His ways are just; A God of faithfulness and without injustice, Righteous and upright is He.  Deuteronomy 32:4

Sometimes we can get overwhelmed with worries, trying to meet standards we’ve set for ourselves, and so many world centered distractions. Let’s admit it, we have all either been through it or are currently facing these challenges. It is not easy either balancing a dream while trying to stay devoted to your everyday activities. Thankfully, we have a God who is ready with open arms and hands to hold our worries, any doubts, and anxieties that we may have. A Father, who will replace all of that with His peace!

I know right now in this season it can be hard to even begin to let those worrries go, when it is what we face everyday. One thing for sure is that our Father wants us to trust in Him, our trust in Him will signify our faith which will result in blessings! Who doesn’t want to have that?! One thing we can do to fix our thoughts on His truth, is to cut out distractions and focus on the Word. So, what are you going to do this week to turn your worry into faith? It’s time to lift up the worries and replace it with faith in the One who is able to give you peace through it all.

“You don’t have enough faith,” Jesus told them. “I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible” Matthew 17:20

What Are You Doing About It?

“Less talk, more action”. It seems like a drawn out, meaningless saying doesn’t it? I mean we hear it all of the time: on t.v, from our favorite speakers, social media, and more, but do you ever see visions of where your dreams and goals can take you. Some times we see our favorite celebrities and wonder “hmm, what am I doing wrong”?, when the question should really be..what are WE doing to OBTAIN the dreams and goals we aspire to!?

Our lives don’t have to look like what we see on t.v or over social media. As long as everyday you are doing something to gets you closer to what you desire, it will be even better than you can ever imagine. How? Well first our God is able to do exceedingly amazing things on our lives (Ephesians 3:20); and you can for sure count on that, just take a look at all of the amazing things He has done so far in your life. Also, when you put your FAITH + PRAYER+ACTION to practice, nothing can stop you, not even the attacks the enemy or an enemy may try to throw at you ! It’s time for us dreamers to walk the walk of faith along with action towards the Bigger Picture for our lives!

“The distance between your dreams and reality is called ACTION” -Unknown

One Life

Lately I’ve been evaluating my life, like what I do with my time, how am I living on PURPOSE everyday, and how am I getting closer to my dreams everyday? Have you found yourself ever wondering if you are being productive enough or “using your time wisely” ? Well it happens and often times if we are thinking about it, it’s true! Sometimes we get so caught up in work or school and we forget to just LIVE! We were not created to just work all day and not enjoy life, no! In fact, God wants us to enjoy life, He has placed tons of beauty in front of us that we witness every single day! Just look at the stars, the sun, flowers, sunsets, the beaches and more!

Life doesn’t have to be this ball of stress that it seems to be. We should be able to see the significance in everyday because everyday that we are alive IS significant. So, what are we waiting for? It time to start living our ONE and ONLY Life to its fullest! As we journey towards our dreams and goals we should remember to enjoy our lives where we are , who we are, with what we have ! Tomorrow isn’t promised and we should live everyday as if it were our last.

This is the day that the Lord has made;
let us rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:24

It’s Not About Us

Sometimes in life we can get so focused on ourselves, our problems, on basking in attention and self pity, or just whatever problems we’re facing that we forget about OTHERS. Don’t get me wrong here, we ALL definitely fall victim to this; and it can be hard to look past ourselves in certain situations, but guess what?! When we start to put others’ needs before our own that is when we actually find peace in the situation!

Now, I am no perfect person, everyday is a growing point for me. I have to constantly ask God to help me to become a better listener and a better giver. Whatever your situation is just know that God is always here to listen and ALWAYS here to help. You see guys, we are not only called to fulfill God’s calling but apart of that calling is to love others, serve others, give to others, and just be all around compassionate to others! As we journey towards the “bigger picture”, is is important that we remember along with the success and prosperity comes the responsibility as Christians to bring God glory and to love and serve His people!

Challenge for the week: Just evaluate areas of your life where you may be lacking that trait of selflessness or areas you could improve more on. Pray and ask God to give you those things and even wisdom for areas of your life you may need it! Keep continuing to seek God in everything you do!

“For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love.” Galatians 5:13

Perfect in His Love

Well I’m pretty sure we all know how this goes by the title? I mean I’m sure you’ve heard it all before: “It’s okay not to be perfect”, “You don’t have to have everything together”, “You’re perfect just the way you are”, yet you’re not confident in some areas of your life. You may not think you are qualified enough, you aren’t quite what society may consider successful, or you may not feel accepted. Well maybe you’ve heard those few statements above, and you still may not feel good enough. I have news for you my fellow dreamer, goal-setter, believer of all the good things God has in store for us … PERFECTION IS A MYTH, YOU ARE ENOUGH, and YOU ARE QUALIFIED to do ALL that God has called you to do!!

Sometimes we are looking for what the world says about it and what the world’s standards are, when we should be looking to our Father who is perfect and perfect in love! He loves our imperfections, it is through our imperfections that His glory is revealed to others around us. As we journey towards the Bigger Picture, let’s pick up our confidence (through Christ), our purpose, our goals, our dreams, and take hold of the love and strength that our Father has given us for the journey. Let us liberate those doubts, fears, insecurities, lies, and inferior voices holding us back from remembering who God says we are!

I believe in you all for everything that you are believing God for; trust the process of growth, and trust His plan.

Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.” Psalm 139:14   (NLT)

The Growth in the Outgrowth

Sometimes in life we meet people, and those people don’t stay as long as we’d hope for. Maybe we had an opportunity that we had in the grasp of our hands, holding on to it by faith only to watch it drift away. How about when the things you want aren’t lining up as they should be. The reality of things can be harsh, especially after you have been journeying (towards your dreams) and trying to keep your hope up in the process. Just remember: “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven” Ecclesiastes 3:1.

God wants the very best for us and you can trust that even when something feels like a setback, it is for a much bigger purpose. He wants to see us prosper, and not every blessing has to be a blessing that you may be comfortable with. Sometimes we need to GROW and OUTGROW things. So those old friends served their purpose. That opportunity helped to prepare you for something bigger. The dreams you have are ONLY the beginning of something great that God is going to do through you! Let us keep this in mind when we are feeling left out or slow in progression. Our journey towards “the bigger picture” starts and ends with faith !

Breathe In, Dream Out

We are all dreamers here right? I mean that IS what 75% of this blog consists of. So, lets be honest for a minute, we all can have doubts and life can throw curve balls at us at all angles! Sometimes we just need a break from our own thoughts because most of the time that is what stops us from taking that leap of faith, dreaming that BIG dream , or even going through with a goal. We just need to take a “breather” from all distractions and get into what God has to say about it.

I remember I would let the opinions of others stop me from dreaming big dreams, and going after what I desired. I had to make the choice to remember what God says. God is making a way for you and even the desires of your heart to be established. “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” Isaiah 43:19. Isn’t that amazing ! God is making away for you even through the negative talk, the doubts, the chaos around you, and whatever it may be that is hindering you. Let’s breathe in God’s word and DREAM OUT as we journey towards the “Bigger Picture”!

Challenge for the week: Let’s clean out the negative and doubtful thoughts and soak into what God wants to do in our lives and in us through our dreams. Take a moment out of your day and jot down some dreams , even the ones that sound insanely impossible. Keep a journal of what you want to accomplish and set some goals! Then I want you guys to tune out anything or anyone that may cause doubt to creep in and replace it with inspirational music ! LET’S GO !!
